In the southern part of tel Aviv to ancient Jaffa, at the metochion of Righteous Tabitha is located the temple in honor of the Apostle Peter. Acquired by Archimandrite Antonin in the middle of the 19th century, the plot of land, first turned into a blooming garden and built the Pilgrim House. Later, next to the tomb of Tabitha was laid for a future temple. In 1894, the Jerusalem Patriarch, built the Church was consecrated in the name of St. Peter, whom the city worshipped especially. In construction, along with Italian architects, and was attended by local residents, and icons were painted by Russian artist Ledkov.

Painting of the Church ended in the early 20th century. On the walls scenes from the life of the Apostle Peter, the pillars of the Twelve Apostles. The Church has two beautiful white altar and the iconostasis, donated by the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian society. The burial cave with the tomb of Tabitha, decorated with beautiful Byzantine mosaics, is an essential part of a farmstead. Over the grave was erected a chapel.

Decayed to the end of the 20th century, the Church and part of a farmstead have been restored under the supervision of the chief of mission, and in 1997 the service in the Church was celebrated by his Holiness Patriarch of all Russia Alexy II. Today the temple grounds are constantly improved, and in the courtyard there are Sunday school. The highest point of Jaffa is the bell tower of the Church of the Apostle Peter.
