About attractions

Ein Gedi (Hebrew. עֵין גֶּדִי — "the source of the goat") is one of the most beautiful spots of the Judean desert. Oasis has been known since ancient times and is mentioned as the meeting place of king Saul and young David.

On the territory of Ein Gedi is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Israel — "Shulamit"
Fascinating world of the desert acacia, Eshel (tree of Abraham the Patriarch), a variety of birds, rock rabbits and wild goats that are not afraid of people. From the slope of the mountains offers a beautiful view of the Dead Sea and Judean desert.

Hill tel-mountain, which is Ein-Gedi, is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Judean desert. Here are preserved the ruins of a unique system of water supply of the ancient city and ruins of synagogues of the Roman-Byzantine period, in which found fragments of mosaics, including an image of a swastika during the beginning of a new era. The well-preserved mosaic floor of the synagogue also discovered an inscription in the Aramaic language. It refers to the caret of God, which will befall the one who divulge the "secrets of the city". Modern researchers believe that these "secrets" could be the secret of making the balm.
